What is INDEX?
The objects, ideas and forces that shape our lives.
My interest in symbols began with a childhood book of road signs — and the way a single mark could instruct, warn or reassure without language. INDEX grew from that fascination.
INDEX is a visual language spanning the body, nature, belief, knowledge, power, labour, technology and everyday life. Each symbol in the collection has been researched, curated and crafted to its clearest possible form: simple enough to recognise immediately, but open enough to carry more than one meaning.

INDEX: The exhibition
The INDEX exhibition translates INDEX’s visual language into 100 individually framed, hand-painted acrylic works.
Each symbol is hand-painted on board, creating a distinct interpretation of the original image. Subtle variations in surface, edge and finish ensure that every work has its own character.
The exhibition is currently in production, and each symbol will be available to purchase. Visit the store to view those currently available.
